Just bought 1999 ford ranger 3.0l v6 needs repairs please help?
It starts but runs extremely rough w/ vibrations, small amounts of white smoke coming out of tailpipe at idle, increasing with more load. No engine light because it had a dead battery and don't want to run it long enough to get one. Seems to me (subjective info) that its misfiring on an unknown amount of cylinders. checked oil and antifreeze and haven't noticed any swapping of fluids. Any ideas welcome, I NEED this truck running so I can start a landscaping business as a last ditch effort of surviving
Look at http://www.explorerforum.com/ they have a lot of info on Rangers since it is similar to the Explorer. I'd start by changing the plugs and wires.
